I hired Meghan in the summer of 2021 to expand my design team in order to support multiple user experience and interface design projects while working on the ServiceNow platform at Cask. As an early career designer, Meghan’s UX knowledge, understanding of development, and critical thinking skills consist of more maturity and skill than numerous senior designers I’ve worked with as a design professional.
I was Meghan’s manager for most of her time at Cask. She was incredibly helpful to me, the teams she supported, and the company at large. On all the projects she worked on, she always did a great job of demonstrating a multi-skilled approach to her work while still learning about ServiceNow. In meetings with clients, partners, and internal teams alike, it was wonderful to hear her contributions to larger discussions. Her work also consistently received praise from colleagues, including account executives, directors, and engagement managers. Our co-workers would often reach out to me directly to say they were impressed by her work and that she was a great hire and asset to the team.
Meghan always has a willingness to jump in, learn, solve problems, and make anything related to a design better. She was never afraid to ask questions, advocate for the user, and put the ideas and feedback I gave her into practice. Her support as a QA tester on one team was greatly appreciated, where she worked closely with developers to ensure designs were developed as intended while asking cause and effect questions that led to better experiences for end users.
Every day, Meghan gracefully navigated ambiguity and asked thoughtful questions. She was organized, committed, and cared about users through her dedication to accessibility. Whether she’s working on a user interface design, supporting QA testing, or working with users and partners, Meghan is able to fluidly move between projects and approach anything that’s assigned to her. She also demonstrated a commitment to education and as part of our team learning budget, I supported her journey in taking in-depth accessibility training and her efforts to educate her teammates about the importance of designing and developing accessible products.
As a colleague, Meghan is smart, kind, respectful, detail-oriented, honest, and an all-around collegial person. As a fellow designer, I can assure you that she will make an excellent addition to any growing team. Anyone who gets to work with her is lucky! If you wish to get in touch about Meghan, please don’t hesitate to connect with me.
